About Department of Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to the comprehensive care, education, and research in mental health. We provide evidence-based psychiatric services for patients of all age groups, addressing a wide range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Our multidisciplinary team consists of experienced psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and counselors, all committed to promoting mental well-being and restoring quality of life for our patients.

We offer specialized care for both common and complex dermatological conditions, including: Acne, eczema, and psoriasis Fungal, bacterial, and viral skin infections Hair and nail disorders Skin allergies and contact dermatitis Pigmentary disorders (e.g., vitiligo, melasma) Autoimmune skin diseases Skin cancer screening and management Pediatric dermatology Geriatric dermatology

The department plays a key role in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, offering hands-on clinical experience and interactive learning sessions. We also conduct regular workshops, seminars, and CMEs to keep our students and faculty updated with advancements in psychiatric care.

We are actively involved in mental health research, focusing on community psychiatry, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia. The department encourages students and faculty to participate in ongoing research and present their work at national and international forums.

Our outreach programs aim to reduce the stigma around mental illness and increase mental health awareness. We organize mental health camps, school-based interventions, and community education initiatives.
